Designed and engineered to sit amongst the highest quality pen kits available, the Mistral ballpoint pen kit is manufactured to exacting standards and tolerances and features premium quality platings for a refined, high-end finish. Each kit includes a Beaufort Ink “soft & smooth” Parker-style refill and an ultra-smooth, precision-made German twist mechanism for exceptionally reliable performance.

What tooling do I need to make this kit?

To make this turning project, you will need (all sold separately):

• Bushing set MIS-BP-BU (also referred to as “bushes” in the instructions)

• Drill bits 10.7 mm and 8.2 mm

• Mandrel A/7 mm

This is a woodworking turning project that requires drilling, turning, finishing, and assembly using standard woodworking equipment. You will not receive a finished pen. Note: The Beaufort convertible pencil mechanism will not fit this pen kit, but you can use the Parker-style Forever pencil refill to make a matching pencil. Simply remove the Parker ink refill, put the spring on the pencil refill and put the refill into the pen. 

What refill does this kit take?

The Mistral ballpoint pen kit uses a Beaufort Ink Parker-style ballpoint refill. OtherParker-style refills are also compatible. Note: The Beaufort convertible pencil mechanism will not fit this pen kit, but you can use the Parker-style Forever pencil refill to make a matching pencil. Simply remove the Parker ink refill, put the spring on the pencil refill and put the refill into the pen. 

What size blank do I need?

We recommend using a pen blank measuring at least 3/4" square by 5", giving you enough material for drilling and shaping. Shown here with the Glitter “Comet” pen blank (not included).
