Blanks, blocks and spindles 6+ inches long

Our spindle blanks or long project blocks — 6" and longer, up to 12" — are made for turning projects like longer tool handles, salt or pepper mill grinders or decorative spindles. They can also easily be cut down into smaller blocks for multiple projects from a single piece.

1-1/2" square blanks: A versatile size for larger handle-style projects. Ideal for coffee scoops, vegetable peelers, rasps, bottle stoppers, bottle openers and other kitchen or shop accessories where you want comfortable shaping room without excess bulk.

2" square blanks: Great for smaller salt and pepper mill grinders, salt and pepper shakers and mid-sized projects that need more substance. This size offers added strength and shaping freedom while remaining manageable on the lathe.

3"+ square blanks: Built for short salt and pepper grinders and mills of all kinds — especially when you want a bold profile, thicker walls or a more substantial finished piece. The extra mass gives you greater design flexibility and visual impact.
