The pen top features a traditional open-spooled fly fishing reel with detailed fly line visible on the spool. Below the reel is a cast, engraved trout caught and fighting in the line. The pen clip is shaped like a fly fishing rod, which can be aligned below the trout to recreate the moment of the fight as the fish pulls against the line. Completing the design, the pen tip features a beautiful 360-degree outdoor scene of a lone fisherman casting in front of a finely detailed mountain backdrop.

This pen uses a Parker-style refill for smooth, reliable writing.

To make this kit, you will need (all sold separately):

  3/8" pen mill shaft
  Bushing set PKPPENBU
  Pen mandrel A/7 mm

This is a woodworking turning project that requires turning, finishing and assembly with woodworking equipment. You will not receive a finished pen.

What size blank do I need to make this pen?

You will need blanks that are approximately 3/4" square by 5" long. Blank is not included. Shown here in a Beeswing Narra pen blank (blank not included).

What refill does this pen use?

This kit includes a Parker-style refill, which is easy to replace and widely available in different ink colours and types. Turn this kit into a pencil with the Parker-style Forever pencil refill. Just remove the pen refill, slip the spring onto the pencil refill and insert the pencil refill into the pen kit. You can also use the Beaufort convertible pencil mechanism to turn this kit into a pencil.
