Premium pen mill shaft with cutting blade

Also called a barrel trimmer or pilot shaft, this premium pen mill shaft is an extremely useful tool for équarrir les extrémités of your pen blanks after the brass tubes have been glued into the blank.

The long pilot shaft fits inside the brass tube, using the tube as a guide and support while the cutting head removes excess material. This allows you to trim the blank perfectly flush to the brass tube for accurate pen assembly and improved fit and finish.

What is this shaft used for?

This shaft is used together with a premium cutter head to square the ends of pen blanks after the tubes have been glued in place. Properly trimmed blanks help ensure accurate assembly and cleaner finished pens.

What cutter head does this shaft require?

This shaft requires the Premium 3/4" cutter head (PREM-PNML-3/4), sold separately. Please note: this pilot shaft is designed only to fit the PREMIUM cutter heads sold by William Wood-Write Ltd. It will NOT fit the regular cutter heads sold on this site.

What does the shaft size refer to?
