The 11 mm round Nanograin carbide cutter features a 30° bevel and is designed as a round carbide finisher. It excels at general shaping, blending curves, and refining inside contours. Whether you’re shaping small bowls, boxes, ornaments, handles, or pen-related projects, this cutter delivers clean, flowing cuts with excellent surface quality.
This tool bar will also fit an 11 mm round negative rake cutter, giving you additional flexibility for fine finishing and more delicate cuts.

Does this tool include a handle?
No — and that’s part of the appeal. This tool includes the round carbide cutter, mounting screw, and hex key. The handle is not included, allowing you to turn a custom handle that fits your grip and turning style perfectly. We recommend starting with a handle blank approximately 2" square by 12" long so you can shape it to your own comfort and specifications. It’s a rewarding turning project that also becomes a practical, everyday shop tool.
What is this tool best suited for?
This round carbide finisher is ideal for general shaping, blending and smoothing curves, refining inside curves and contours, small bowls, boxes, ornaments, and detailed projects. The round profile makes it forgiving and versatile, especially on smaller work where control and smooth transitions are important.
Safe use of woodturning tools
As with all woodturning tools, these Nanograin carbide cutters will provide years of service if treated with care and respect. We recommend cutting at or slightly above centre; cutting below centre can cause the tool to become overly aggressive. Avoid sharp impacts, as carbide inserts can fracture if struck. Always wear a dust mask, safety glasses, and a face shield when turning. Keep loose clothing, hair, and gloves well clear of the work area.
