Craft a classic, well-balanced writing instrument with the Maple Leaf fountain pen kit featuring a postable end cap. The cap screws securely onto the back of the pen while in use, giving it a comfortable, elegant feel in the hand. This is a William Wood-Write exclusive turning project designed for makers who appreciate traditional styling with thoughtful details.

What does the kit include? 

Each kit includes a medium fountain pen nib, one ink cartridge, and an ink pump (converter) for use with bottled ink, letting you choose the filling method you prefer during assembly.

What tooling do I need to make this kit?

To make this kit, you will need (all sold separately):

• Drill bits 27/64 and letter V. In place of the Letter V drill bit, you can also use a 3/8 drill bit. 

• Bushing set 119A

• Mandrel A/7 mm

• Pen mill shafts 27/64 and 3/8

A letter V drill bit measures 9.57 mm (0.3770 decimal inches). This is a woodworking turning project that requires turning, finishing, and assembly using standard woodworking equipment. You will not receive a finished pen.

What size blank do I need?

You’ll need a pen blank minimum 3/4" square × 5" long (not included). Shown here in Stabilized Box Elder Burl ocean blue. 

What refill do I need?

This kit includes both a standard ink cartridge and an ink pump (converter) for bottled ink. You can install either option when assembling the pen. Please note that replacement nibs for this kit are not currently available.
