What tooling do I need to make this kit?
To make this turning project, you will need (all sold separately): Drill bit: 3/8" Pen mill shaft: 3/8" Mandrel: A/7 mm Bushing set CUR-BU (included FREE with this kit) This is a woodworking project that requires drilling, turning, finishing, and assembly using standard woodworking tools. You will not receive a finished pen.
What refill does this kit take?
The Curtis twist ballpoint pen kit uses a Parker-style ballpoint refill. You can also turn it into a pencil by using a Parker-style Forever pencil refill. Simply remove the ballpoint refill, place the spring onto the Forever pencil refill, and insert it into the pen.
What size blank do I need?
We recommend using a pen blank measuring at least 3/4" square by 5", giving you enough material for drilling and shaping. Shown here turned from osage orange (blank not included).
