This system is designed to deliver a perfectly concentric result by allowing the 7 mm mandrel shaft to slide directly through a headstock collet, reducing runout and improving overall precision. The adjustable design makes it easy to adapt to different project lengths. Simply mount your tubes and bushings, slide the shaft to the desired position, and lock it in place. The shorter, supported shaft design helps reduce the risk of flexing or bowing during turning, resulting in smoother, more consistent results.

What is included with this mandrel?

This system includes #2 Morse Taper Maxi-Mandrel, 7 mm mandrel shaft, 5 Slimline bushings (#PKM-BUSH3 - same as BUSH-1A).

How does this mandrel work?

Mount your bushings and tubes onto the mandrel shaft, then slide the shaft through the headstock collet to match your project length. Once positioned, tighten the collet to secure the shaft. This setup helps maintain excellent concentricity while minimizing shaft deflection. The collet is tightened with two 7/8" wrenches (NOT included). 

What lathe does this fit?

This mandrel features a Morse Taper 2 (MT2), making it compatible with most wood lathes that accept an MT2 taper.
