This mandrel is used for pen turning and similar projects. How does the mandrel work?

Simply mount your tubes and bushings then slide the shaft to the appropriate length and lock it in place. The shorter shaft reduces the likelihood of the mandrel shaft bowing. The keyless collet system allows you to tighten and loosen the mandrel shaft by hand, eliminating the need for separate wrenches. The adjustable shaft also removes the need for spacer bushings, helping you dial in the exact length of your turning while maintaining excellent concentricity.

This system includes keyless adjustable pen mandrel with MT2 taper, 7 mm mandrel shaft, 5 Slimline bushings (#PKM-BUSH3 - the same as BUSH-1A), knurled nut, knurled lock nut, tightening bars (for optional use), 7 mm brad point drill bit. 

Are replacement parts available?

Yes. A replacement mandrel shaft with brass nut is sold separately.
