Knife block - Stabilized Walnut 1 x 2 x 5

Stabilized Walnut knife block. Approximate block size 1" thick x 2" high x 5" long. 

Walnut is a milk chocolate brown wood that comes from the Eastern Canada and United States. Walnut heartwood can range from a lighter pale brown to a dark chocolate brown with darker brown streaks. Color can sometimes have a grey, purple, or reddish cast. Sapwood is pale yellow-gray to nearly white. Walnut has a medium texture with a moderately straight grain. It is very popular amongst woodworkers and incredibly cooperative for turning and finishing. Stabilization refers to impregnating soft wood with resin, creating a blank that is no longer weak. 

The blank in the photograph is representative only. Your blanks will be selected at random and may differ somewhat from the image shown. Some colour variability is to be expected - this is because different blanks have different densities that will affect how the wood absorbs resin. We do not offer refunds for colour variability within the blank or other slight internal imperfections.
