Achieve a rich, high-luster finish with Doctor’s Woodshop walnut oil, carnauba wax & shellac woodworking finish. Designed for turners who prefer the look and feel of a natural wax finish but still want durability, this all-in-one friction polish produces a hard, restorable surface with excellent shine. It’s an excellent choice for pens and other turned projects that need both protection and visual appeal.
What kind of finish does this product produce?
This finish delivers a hard, durable surface with a deep, glossy luster. It combines the strong sealing properties of Doctor’s Woodshop High Build Friction Polish with the added protection, shine, and restorability of a micro-aggregated carnauba wax topcoat. It is very similar to Doctor's Woodshop Pens Plus Friction Polish, differing only in the type of wax used.
How is this finish applied?
This is a friction polish applied directly to the spinning piece on the lathe. It can be used as a first finish on bare wood or as a redressing application to refresh an existing finish. In most cases, the project buffs up to a great shine in a single step.
What types of projects is it best suited for?
This finish is ideal for pens, handles, and other small turning projects where a smooth feel, natural appearance, and durable surface are important. It’s especially popular with turners who want a wax-based finish that still offers solid protection.
