Doctor’s Woodshop high build friction polish – 16 oz / 473 ml

Achieve a deep, high-gloss finish on your turning projects with Doctor’s Woodshop High Build Friction Polish. This updated formula uses walnut oil instead of traditional boiled linseed oil, helping preserve the natural colour and clarity of your wood without darkening or clouding over time.

Designed for ease of use on the lathe, this polish seals the surface while building a durable, lustrous shine in just a few quick applications. It’s an excellent choice for pen turners and woodturners looking for a fast, reliable finish with professional results.

What makes this friction polish a great choice?

This high build formula acts as both a sealer and a finish, reducing the need for multiple products. The walnut oil base enhances grain definition while maintaining the wood’s natural appearance. It dries quickly and buffs to a smooth, high-lustre shine directly on the lathe.

It can also be used as a sealing coat under wax or lacquer finishes for added depth and protection.

How do I use this product?

Finish sand your workpiece, removing all sanding marks. Apply to the spinning surface with a soft paper towel at slow speed to cover, then buff at high speed to cure and build shine. Allow cooling between coats for best results. Can also be applied with a French polish mop for furniture and cabinetry. Shake well before use.
