What tooling do I need to make this kit?
The handles are easy and enjoyable to turn, mounting between centres using a bottle stopper chuck on the headstock and a live centre at the tailstock. Straightforward drilling and simple assembly make this a great project for both experienced turners and confident beginners. To make this kit, you will need (all sold separately):

You can use a bottle stopper mandrel in place of a screw chuck, but then you will also require a chuck to hold the mandrel.
These are woodturning project kits that require turning, finishing, and assembly using woodworking equipment. Finished tools are not included.
What size blank do I need?
Each tool requires blanks with a recommended minimum diameter of 1-1/2" square. The fork and spatula will each require a 7" blank for the handles, and the tongs will require two 6" long blanks for the handles. What do I need to know about making these kits?
These are advanced level projects. You will drill a 11/32 hole in the blanks so that you can thread in the screw chuck. Turn the handle. Then redrill those holes with a 10mm drill bit to accept the stem of the tongs, fork or spatula. These are glued in, not threaded in. The threaded inserts sold on this site are not compatible for these kits.
