Alumilite Clear Slow is a premium two-part clear urethane casting resin designed for makers, woodworkers, and turners. It’s ideal for casting pen blanks, knife blanks, and hybrid wood/resin projects that demand clarity, strength, and a high-quality finish.
What’s included in the kit?
Each kit includes 2 lb (0.9 kg) of Part A and 2 lb (0.9 kg) of Part B, for approximately 32 oz of mixed resin total. The resin is sold by weight, not volume.
What does "slow" mean and why should I choose it?
The Slow formula offers a longer open time and extended demold window, making it better suited for deeper pours and more complex castings. The slower cure helps reduce heat build-up, which in turn helps prevent cracking.
What is the working and demold time?
The resin has a work time of approximately 12 minutes and a demold time of about 2–4 hours.
How does it machine and finish?
Alumilite Clear Slow is less brittle than many casting resins and machines exceptionally well. It turns, routes, shapes, and sands easily, and it can be polished to a beautiful high-gloss finish.
Resin clarity may vary slightly from batch to batch due to raw material differences, but this variation does not affect most castings.
