Made from solid stainless steel, this liquor bottle stopper features a 3/8"-16 tpi threaded stud that is 1/2" long. The stud is machined from a single piece and is not removable. The stopper body measures 1-3/4" long (not including the stud). It fits many liquor bottles including bourbon and whiskey. While it does not fit 100% of bottles, it will fit approximately 95%.
What tooling do I need to make this kit?
You will need a bottle stopper mandrel (sold separately). You will also need a Jacobs chuck or drill chuck for your lathe.
What size blank do I need for this kit?
We recommend a blank at least 1-1/2" square × 2-1/2" long to allow enough material for turning and shaping. This is a woodworking turning project that requires turning, finishing, and assembly with woodworking equipment. You will not receive a finished item.
What else should I know?
Try our bottle stopper inserts to simplify your project (see the Related Products tab). Just drill a 33/64" hole (13.2 mm / 0.52") to the recommended depth and glue the insert in place. Your blank is now ready to mount on a bottle stopper mandrel, making it easy to screw the stopper top on and off. Alternatively, you can use our bottle stopper drill and tap set to drill and thread the hole directly.
