The bottle stopper kit 501 is precision-machined from a single piece of food-grade 304 stainless steel, ensuring durability and a beautiful finish. It features FDA-compliant o-rings and a stylish hourglass shape. The stopper measures 1-1/2" long with a 1/2"-long 3/8"-16 tpi threaded stud. The stud is not removable, providing a strong and seamless connection.
What tools do I need to make this kit?
You’ll need a bottle stopper mandrel (sold separately). A Jacobs chuck or drill chuck for your lathe is also required.
What size blank should I use?
Use a blank measuring approximately 1-1/2" square × 2-1/2" long. Shown here turned from Padauk (project blank not included).
Try our bottle stopper inserts to make a bottle stopper project even easier (see related products tab for link)! Simply drill a 33/64" (13.2 mm) hole about 0.52" deep into your blank and glue in the insert. Then mount your blank onto a bottle stopper mandrel — it makes threading your stopper top on and off quick and simple. Alternatively, you can use our bottle stopper drill and tap set to create and thread the hole directly.
This is a woodworking turning project that requires turning, finishing, and assembly using woodworking equipment. You will not receive a finished item.
