Bottle stopper kit 301 XL – food-grade stainless steel

The bottle stopper kit 301 XL is precision-machined from a single piece of food-grade 304 stainless steel for strength, durability and a clean, polished finish. It features FDA-compliant O-rings and an elegant cone shape that makes it an attractive choice for custom bottle stopper projects.

The stopper measures 1-3/4" (44 mm) long, plus a 1/2" (13 mm) threaded stud with 3/8"-16 tpi threads. The stud is machined directly into the stainless steel body and is not removable, providing a strong, seamless connection to your turned wooden top.

What tooling do I need to make this bottle stopper?

To make this kit, you will need (all sold separately):

• Bottle stopper mandrel

• Jacobs chuck or drill chuck for your lathe

This is a woodturning project that requires turning, finishing and assembly using appropriate woodworking equipment. You will receive the stainless steel stopper kit, not a finished bottle stopper.

What size blank should I use?

Use a blank measuring approximately 1-1/2" square × 2-1/2" long (38 × 38 × 64 mm). The project blank is not included.

How do I attach the top to the bottle stopper?

Try our bottle stopper inserts to make your project even easier! Simply drill a 33/64" (13.2 mm) diameter hole approximately 0.52" (13.2 mm) deep into your blank and glue in the insert. Once the glue has cured, mount your blank onto a bottle stopper mandrel for turning. The insert makes it easy to screw your turned blank onto the stopper and remove it when needed.
