What are the blank dimensions?

Each blank measures 40 mm × 40 mm × 13 mm (Approx. 1-9/16" × 1-9/16" × 1/2") and is sized to produce one ring. The photo is a typical representation of the material you will receive. Your blank will be selected at random and may vary in colour, grain pattern and figure. Wood is a natural material, and every blank is unique.

Two fun facts about Osage Orange:

Indigenous peoples throughout North America considered Osage Orange one of the finest woods for bow making because of its exceptional strength, flexibility and resistance to breakage. High-quality Osage bows were traded over vast distances, sometimes hundreds of kilometres from where the trees grew.
The wood glows bright yellow when freshly cut. It can appear almost fluorescent yellow or golden orange. Over time, exposure to light and air gradually darkens the wood to a richer golden-brown shade.
