Coffee Bean pen blanks 3-pack — Made in Canada
Love the look of our coffee bean pen blanks? This convenient 3-pack lets you save while giving you three unique blanks to turn. Handcrafted in Guelph, Ontario, each blank is cast from premium Alumilite resin with real coffee beans suspended inside, creating one-of-a-kind patterns that ensure every finished pen has its own distinctive character.
No two blanks are exactly alike. Natural variation in coffee bean placement, colour and depth means each pen you create will be unique. As you turn the blanks on the lathe, you may even notice a subtle aroma reminiscent of freshly brewed coffee—a small but enjoyable touch that coffee lovers will appreciate.
What does handcrafted mean?
Each blank is hand-poured in small batches. As a result, you may occasionally notice slight internal imperfections or a gently rounded corner from the casting process. These are normal characteristics of hand-cast resin blanks and will not affect your finished pen, as the ends are removed during turning.
Because every blank contains real coffee beans, the arrangement of the beans, colour and overall appearance will vary. The photo shown is representative only, and refunds are not offered for these natural variations.
What are the dimensions of these blanks?
Each blank measures approximately 3/4" square x 5" long (19 mm x 19 mm x 127 mm). Blanks are selected at random and will vary slightly in appearance. The photo shown is representative only.
What is included in the bundle?
This bundle includes three coffee bean pen blanks, of one each available colour: Espresso Delight, Vanilla Latte, Mocha Bliss.
What is the best way to turn and finish these blanks?
For best results, turn these blanks slowly and use sharp tools with light, controlled cuts. This helps prevent chipping and keeps the resin and embedded beans cutting cleanly. Finish the blanks the same way you would regular acrylic pen blanks: sand with Abranet, then wet sand with Micro Mesh up to 12,000 grit, and complete the finish with a plastic polish. The GluBoost system will also provide an excellent finish.
How can I prevent the coffee beans from chipping while turning?
Add thin cyanoacrylate glue to your blank as you are turning it. Let the glue dry in between and continue turning. The thin CA will soak into the beans and harden them, preventing chipping and blowouts. Make sure you use sharp tools, take light cuts and go slowly.
