Cactus Juice stabilizing resin – by TurnTex (1.89 L / half gallon)
Cactus Juice is a professional-grade, heat-cured resin designed for stabilizing and hardening wood and other porous materials. Made in the USA, this resin is especially effective on soft, punky spalted woods that would otherwise be too fragile to work with.
Easy to use, with minimal colour change on most woods
Non-toxic, non-flammable, and solvent-free
Supplied with activator in a separate bottle
Once activated, shelf life is 8–12 months
Not affected by cold temperatures – safe to ship year-round
Items needed for stabilizing (not included):
Cactus Juice resin
Stabilizing chamber and a vacuum pump (minimum 29” Hg; higher vacuum recommended). An electric rotary vane pump works best, as vacuum may need to be held for an hour or more.
Small oven to cure blanks once resin is absorbed
Aluminum foil to wrap blanks before curing
Wood blanks at 10% moisture content or less (lower is better)
Personal protection equipment (latex or nitrile gloves, eye protection)
