Cactus Juice stabilizing resin – by TurnTex (3.79 L / 1 gallon)

Stabilize and strengthen your wood with Cactus Juice stabilizing resin by TurnTex. This professional-grade, heat-cured resin is designed to penetrate porous materials and harden them from within, making it ideal for punky or spalted woods that would otherwise be too soft to turn.

Cactus Juice is easy to use, does not significantly alter the colour of most woods, and is non-toxic, non-flammable and solvent-free.

What is Cactus Juice used for?

Cactus Juice is used to stabilize wood and other porous materials. It strengthens soft or punky blanks by filling the internal structure with resin, allowing them to be turned, sanded and finished more easily.

How will I receive the product?

Cactus Juice is shipped unactivated, with the activator included separately. This allows for longer storage before use.

What is the shelf life of Cactus Juice?

Once activated, the resin has a shelf life of approximately 8 to 12 months

Does temperature affect shipping or storage?

No. Cactus Juice is not affected by cold temperatures and can be shipped year-round without concern.

What do I need to stabilize wood?

To stabilize wood using Cactus Juice, you will need (all sold separately):

  • Cactus Juice resin
Stabilizing chamber and vacuum pump (minimum 29" Hg; higher vacuum provides better results)
Small oven for curing blanks after resin absorption
Aluminum foil to wrap blanks during curing
Wood blanks at 10% moisture content or less (lower is better)
Personal protective equipment such as latex or nitrile gloves and eye protection

An electric rotary vane vacuum pump is recommended, as full evacuation may take over an hour.
