Proudly a product of Canada, Ambrosia Maple is created when ambrosia beetles tunnel into soft maple trees, leaving behind dark streaks and small holes that add natural beauty and uniqueness to every piece. It turns smoothly and finishes beautifully, making it a favorite among woodturners who want something truly one-of-a-kind.
Fun facts about Wormy Maple:
The streaks in Ambrosia Maple aren’t from the wood itself but from fungi carried into the tree by ambrosia beetles, which react with the maple to create dramatic patterns.
No two pieces are ever alike — each blank has its own mix of light maple grain with random streaks, tunnels, and color variations, giving turners endless possibilities.
The photo shown is a typical representation. Your blanks will be selected at random, and each piece will have its own unique streaks and markings.
Price is per blank in Canadian dollars.
