To make this kit, you will need (all sold separately):

• 10.5 mm drill bit

• 12.5 mm pen mill shaft

• Pen mandrel A / 7 mm

This is a woodworking turning project that requires drilling, turning, sanding, finishing and assembly using woodworking equipment. You will receive the pen kit components, not a finished pen.

What is the minimum blank size?

The recommended minimum blank size is 3/4" square × 5" (19 × 19 × 127 mm). The finished pen shown is made with stabilized spalted buckeye burl red, which is not included with the kit.

What type of ink refill does this pen use?

The Train rollerball pen kit uses a Schmidt-style rollerball refill. Rollerball refills use liquid ink to provide a smooth, fluid writing experience with less pressure than a traditional ballpoint pen.

When the ink runs out, simply replace it with another compatible Schmidt-style rollerball refill.
