Turn with accuracy and flexibility using the Pen Master stainless steel adjustable pen mandrel A/7 mm. Designed for lathes with a Morse Taper 2, this mandrel easily adjusts to suit a wide range of project lengths while helping reduce shaft deflection.
This mandrel is used for pen turning and similar projects. It holds your tubes and bushings in place so you can turn your blank to the correct size and shape.
How does the mandrel work?
Simply mount your tubes and bushings then slide the shaft to the appropriate length and lock it in place. The shorter shaft reduces the likelihood of the mandrel shaft bowing. The collet is tightened with two wrenches (NOT included).
If you are using the Pen Master NoFlex Live Centre with this mandrel, the brass nut should be removed before use.
What are the benefits of a shorter shaft?
Using only the length you need helps reduce the chance of the shaft bowing during turning, improving accuracy and finish quality.
What lathe does this fit?
This mandrel is designed for lathes with a Morse Taper 2.
Are replacement parts available?
Yes. A replacement mandrel shaft with brass nut is sold separately.
