They turn beautifully and polish up to a brilliant shine.
What are these blanks made of?
Each blank is hand-crafted by our in-house team of artisans from Alumilite resin and glitter mica powder. The high-density glitter creates a deep, reflective shimmer that changes as the blank turns under light — perfect for adding a bit of festive flair to your next project.
What are the dimensions?
Each blank measures approximately 3/4" diameter × 5" long (about 19 mm × 127 mm) — the ideal size for most standard pen kits.
How should I finish these blanks?
These blanks can be finished the same way you would finish acrylic acetate blanks.
We recommend:
Wet sanding with Micro Mesh through progressively finer grits
Finishing with a plastic polish for a flawless, high-shine surface
For best results, paint the outside of your brass pen tube and the inside of the drilled hole before gluing. This prevents the brass from showing through the translucent areas of the blank. The colour of your paint can subtly alter the final look — try experimenting with black, white, or metallic tones for different effects.
Any special handling tips?
Yes — take care when drilling and turning, as resin blanks can chip if handled too aggressively. Use sharp tools, light cuts, and a steady speed.
