What tooling do I need to make this kit?
To make this turning project, you will need (all sold separately):
Bushing set CYC-RB-FP-BU
Drill bits 10.5 mm and 12.5 mm
Pen mill shafts 10.5 mm and 31/64"
Note: the 12.5 mm pen mill is extremely tight inside the upper tube. We recommend using a 31/64" pen mill or squaring the blank on a disk sander.
Mandrel: A/7 mm
What refill does this kit take?
The Cyclone rollerball pen kit takes a Beaufort Ink rollerball refill. Additional compatible rollerball refills of the same format, such as Schmidt 888, may also be used.
What size blank do I need?
We recommend using a blank measuring at least 3/4" square × 5", giving you enough material for drilling and shaping both barrels. Shown here with Stabilized curly maple pen blank black (blank not included). This is a woodworking turning project that requires drilling, turning, finishing, and assembly using standard woodworking equipment. You will not receive a finished pen.
