Craft a timeless fountain pen with the Wilfred fountain pen kit. Formerly known as the Algonquin, this elegant design has been renamed in honour of Wilfred Collier—our father, grandfather and a proud Second World War veteran.

The Wilfred features a postable cap that securely fits onto the end of the pen while writing, providing a balanced feel and a classic fountain pen experience. 

What tools are required?

To complete this pen, you will need the following items (sold separately):

• 10.5 mm drill bit
• 12.5 mm drill bit
• Bushing set 103A
• 10.5 mm pen mill shaft
• 12.5 mm pen mill shaft
• Pen mandrel A (7 mm)

This is a woodworking turning project. You will need to drill, turn, sand, finish and assemble the pen using appropriate woodworking tools and equipment. You will not receive a finished pen. 

What ink and nib are included? 

Each kit includes a medium fountain pen nib, a standard ink cartridge in black ink and an ink converter, allowing you to use either disposable ink cartridges or your favourite bottled fountain pen ink. Compatible with #5 fountain pen nibs.

What size blank is recommended?

We recommend a pen blank measuring at least 3/4" square × 5" long (19 mm × 19 mm × 127 mm). Shown here with Bocote pen blank (blank not included).
