Formerly known as the Algonquin pen kit, this model has been renamed in honour of Wilfred Collier—our father, grandfather, and a WWII veteran. The Wilfred fountain pen combines a classic, reliable design with meaningful Canadian heritage, making it a rewarding project for pen turners of all experience levels.

To make this kit, you will need (all sold separately):

  12.5 mm drill bit
  Bushing set 103A
  Pen mill shafts 10.5 mm and 12.5 mm
  Mandrel A/7 mm

This is a woodworking turning project that requires turning, finishing, and assembly using standard woodworking equipment. You will not receive a finished item.

What size pen blank do I need for this kit?

This kit requires a pen blank measuring 3/4" square by 5" long. This provides ample material for drilling, turning, shaping, and trimming during the process. Shown with red mallee burl (blank not included).

What kind of ink does this kit use?

The Wilfred fountain pen kit includes a medium nib along with both an ink cartridge and an ink pump. It is compatible with standard fountain pen ink cartridges or bottled ink when used with the included pump.
