Craft Coat is a high-performance wood finish developed specifically for turners and makers who want the look of an oil finish with the durability of a modern protective coating. It is a one-component, linseed oil–modified waterborne urethane that self-crosslinks when exposed to oxygen, forming an exceptionally tough and resilient film.
Craft Coat is made by combining 100% pure linseed oil with a waterborne urethane. Each component is heated separately and then flashed together so they bond at a molecular level. This process prevents separation, eliminates the need for harsh solvents, and results in a finish that dries quickly with very little odour.

How does it perform on different types of wood?
Craft Coat exhibits excellent adhesion on all wood species, including dense exotic woods and naturally oily woods that often require special surface preparation. The cured finish remains flexible, allowing it to move with natural wood expansion and contraction without cracking.
How is Craft Coat applied?
Craft Coat is easy to apply and can be brushed, wiped on, or friction applied on the lathe. It dries quickly, levels well, and applies bubble-free, making it ideal for small turning projects as well as larger woodworking pieces. Cleanup is done with water.
