Turn a practical everyday accessory with this lip balm holder key chain kit. Made from durable, non-toxic aluminum, this design holds your lip balm securely and allows easy access with a simple twist mechanism. 

What tools do I need to make this kit?

To make this kit, you will need (all sold separately):

• 45/64" Forstner bit
  Pen mandrel A/7 mm
  Bushing set PKLBALMBU

This is a woodturning project that requires cutting, drilling, turning, finishing and assembly using woodworking tools. You will not receive a finished item.

NOTE: There has been a design change on the kit with new instructions issued as of March 2023.

What size blank do I need?

You will need a blank that is a minimum of 1" square by 1-9/16" long. Blank is not included. Shown here with a 1" square by 5" maple burl pen blank (not included).

What size lip balm does this holder fit?

This kit includes both a small and large holder to fit most common lip balm sizes, including Burt's Bees®, Chapstick®, Blistex® and more. Choose the holder that best matches the diameter of your lip balm during assembly. Lip balm not included.

How does the mechanism work?

The rotating mechanism allows you to advance and retract the lip balm easily. When empty, the lip balm can be quickly replaced.
