Drill pen blanks accurately and safely with this large dedicated pen blank drilling chuck. Designed specifically for woodturners, this chuck securely holds square blanks on the lathe so you can drill clean, centred holes for pen kits and other turning projects.

The chuck features a reversible set of jaws that allows you to hold a wide range of blank sizes, making it useful not only for pen blanks but also for bottle stopper blanks, handles, and other small turning projects.

What size blanks can this chuck hold?

With the jaws in the standard position, this chuck can hold blanks from 1/4" up to 1-1/2" square. When the jaws are reversed, the chuck can hold blanks from 1-1/2" up to 2-1/2" square. The chuck can hold blanks up to 5" long.

Why choose the large version of this drilling chuck?

This chuck offers roughly two and a half times the capacity of the standard dedicated pen blank drilling chuck. The larger capacity allows you to drill bigger blanks such as bottle stopper blanks, project handles, and other shop projects that require larger stock.

What are the specifications of the chuck?

The chuck weighs approximately 2 lbs and features a 1" × 8 tpi thread for mounting on most standard wood lathes. Two tommy bars are included to open and close the chuck.
