Chechen rosewood is native to the Caribbean and Central America. It’s a dense and durable hardwood with striking colors that range from golden brown and orange to deep red and nearly black streaks.

Despite its name, Chechen isn’t a true rosewood species — but its beauty and density have earned it the nickname “Caribbean rosewood.”
In its native regions, Chechen trees grow alongside poisonwood trees, whose sap is toxic, making careful harvesting especially important.
