What are the benefits of turning between centres?
Turning between centres reduces the distance between the headstock and tailstock compared to a traditional pen mandrel setup. This greatly reduces shaft flex and helps produce straighter, more concentric finished barrels with improved fit and alignment.
Because no mandrel shaft is used, you also eliminate many of the common issues associated with bent mandrels or over-tightening.

No. These adapters are designed to turn one barrel at a time for maximum accuracy and control.
What are the finishing bushings used for?
The delrin finishing bushings allow you to apply finishes directly between centres without mounting the barrel back onto a mandrel. This helps keep finishes cleaner and reduces the chance of damaging or contaminating your mandrel setup.
The delrin material resists finish adhesion and cleans up easily after use.
