BET-CENT-BUNDLE

Between centres turning bundle. Includes one set of bushing adapters and one set of delrin finishing bushings. Made in Canada.

Bushing adapters: Turn between centers using these specially designed stainless steel adapters and your regular bushing set. No mandrel required! These adapters are precision-made of stainless steel right here in Canada. Turning between centers will give you more accurate, consistent and concentric turned pen blanks because it eliminates the need for a mandrel shaft. The reduced length between the headstock and tailstock of your lathe will greatly reduce any out of round problems. Note: these adapters can only be used to turn one barrel at a time.

To use these bushings, you will need a 60 degree dead center in your headstock and a 60 degree live center in your tailstock (not included). Insert the pen bushings (specific to the kit you are making) into the barrel that you are going to turn. Mount that assembly onto the bushing adapters as shown in the image here. Insert the 60 degree DEAD center into the headstock of the lathe and insert the 60 degree LIVE center into the tailstock of the lathe. While holding the bushing/blank assembly up to the dead center, bring up the tailstock to hold the opposite end of the bushing/blank assembly. Lock the tailstock down and snug up the tailstock to the bushing adapter until it's tight enough to prevent the wood from slipping while turning. You can also watch our video.

Finishing bushings: Install these finishing bushings directly on your 60 degree centers to apply a finish between centers without the mess. These high quality plastic finishing bushings made of delrin are precision-made right here in Canada. No mandrel required, you'll need a 60 degree dead center in your headstock and a 60 degree live center in your tailstock (not included) to use these bushings. Can only be used to finish one barrel at a time.
