E-Z Bond CA glue in a 2 oz. bottle. Thin. Viscosity 5 CPS. Product of Taiwan. This glue is primarily used for hardening soft or punky woods that are otherwise too soft to work with. It is also used as a finish.

Here are several popular and practical uses specifically for woodturning:

Stabilizing cracks and voids

·    Thin CA glue penetrates deep into small cracks, hairline splits, or voids in wood blanks, especially helpful in burl or spalted wood.

·    It reinforces weak areas without significantly changing the appearance of the wood.

Hardening soft or punky wood

·    Perfect for stabilizing soft or punky areas, particularly in spalted or decayed wood.

·    A few applications can turn unusable wood into a workable blank.

Binding inlay materials and fillers

·    Used to bind and secure fine inlay materials like crushed opal, turquoise, mother of pearl, coffee grounds, or even sawdust into voids or decorative grooves.

·    Thin CA quickly wicks through the material, locking it in place.

Sanding sealer

·    Acts as a quick-drying grain sealer when applied between sanding grits.

·    Helps raise the grain and harden the surface for smoother final sanding.

Finishing

·    Thin CA glue is often used in high-gloss finishes for pens and small turning projects.

·    Applied in multiple coats, sanded, and polished to a glass-like finish. Watch our video!

  • TIP: use a quick spritz of accelerator in between coats to speed up the process. The finish works best if each layer of glue can dry between applications.

Quick fixes and assembly

·    Handy for gluing together jigs, fixtures, or temporary tool adjustments during a project. Sets fast, so it’s great for emergency repairs in the shop
