These stabilized Box Elder Burl pen blanks feature natural red flame colouring that makes each piece truly unique. Blanks measure a minimum of 3/4" square × 5" long.
Easy to drill and turn – we recommend finishing with thin CA glue, Abranet, Micro Mesh, and a plastic polish for a smooth, high-gloss shine.
What is stabilization?
Stabilization refers to impregnating soft wood with resin, creating a blank that is no longer weak.
What is burl?
Burl is a rare, abnormal growth on a tree that creates beautiful swirling figure and eyes, often reserved for high-end furniture and fine turning projects.
