Blade material: 17CR17MOWV is a martensitic stainless steel produced by adding a small amount of molybdenum (Mo) and vanadium (V) to 7Cr17 to improve hardness and wear resistance. It is basically a modified 440A stainless with more Vanadium which increases overall strength, wear resistance, and toughness. It holds an edge exceptionally well. Typical chemistry is: C .60-.75, Si 1.0, MN 1.0, P 0.04, S 0.03, CR 16.0 - 18.5, MO 0.75, Ni 0.60, V 0.10 - 0.20.
