Sapele comes from tropical Africa. It can be used as a substitute for mahogany. It is a deep red-brown cappuccino colour. Sapele has an interlocked grain and a natural wavy luster when finished.

Each blank measures approximately 3" square × 5" long. The wood is skip planed, meaning only the high points have been lightly planed, leaving a natural, textured surface that’s ideal for turning.
