Craft eye-catching pens with these honeycomb pen blanks, made by combining clear or tinted epoxy resin with an embedded aluminum honeycomb for dramatic, three-dimensional depth. Each blank drills and turns smoothly, offering excellent visual impact for gift pens, show pieces, or premium everyday carries.

What are the dimensions of these blanks?

Each blank measures approximately 3/4" square × 5" long, giving you plenty of material for most pen kits.

How do I finish these blanks?

You can finish these blanks the same way you finish acrylic acetate (AA series) pen blanks:

• • Use light, controlled cuts with sharp tools to help prevent chip-out.
  • Wet sand with Micro Mesh up to 12,000 grit to smooth the surface and reveal depth.
  • Apply a plastic friction polish like Novus or One-Step for a glossy, protective finish.

Important finishing tip: Paint both the outside of your brass tube and the inside of the drilled hole before gluing. Honeycomb blanks can be translucent, and unpainted brass may show through. The colour you choose can subtly shift the final look. Enamel paints provide the best durability.

What else do I need to know?

These blanks contain aluminum—always wear proper eye protection when drilling or turning. Use light cuts with sharp tools to reduce the risk of blow-outs. We do not replace blanks damaged during cutting, drilling, trimming, turning, finishing or assembly. Natural variations in colour and pattern are normal and expected.
