Exceptional Stabilized Redwood Lace Burl pen blanks. Rare, extreme figure. Blanks measure minimum 1" x 1" x 5". Ideal for projects like lighter key rings, pill holder key rings or bottle openers.

Stabilization refers to impregnating soft wood with resin, creating a blank that is no longer weak. Burl is a rare, abnormal growth on a tree that has beautiful swirling figure and eyes and is often used in high end furniture. 

The blank in the picture has been sanded to show the figuring. Some colour variability is to be expected - this is because different blanks have different densities that will affect how the wood absorbs resin. The blank in the photograph is representative only. Your blanks will be selected at random and may vary from the image. Some blanks may contain some spalted figure. 

Easy to drill and turn; we recommend finishing with thin CA glue, abranet, micro mesh and Hut Ultra Gloss for a smooth, high gloss shine.
