Bearcat blade kit. Kit includes Bearcat blade, 3/16" nickel silver pins and pre-selected wood handle material to make your own knife handle.

This knife is the perfect hunter, easy to hold, a delight to use. Satin finished, high carbon, stainless steel, hollow ground blade with 1/8" thick nickel silver bolster set pre-soldered to the blade. The false edge on top of this blade along with the notched thumb grooves add flare to this fantastic design. Two pre-drilled 1/4" holes for pins plus a 1/4" thong hole.

Blade material: 7Cr17MoV is a martensitic stainless steel produced by adding a small amount of molybdenum (Mo) and vanadium (V) to 7Cr17 to improve hardness and wear resistance. It is basically a modified 440A stainless with more Vanadium which increases overall strength, wear resistance, and toughness. It holds an edge exceptionally well. Typical chemistry is:  C .60-.75, Si 1.0, MN 1.0, P 0.04, S 0.03, CR 16.0 - 18.5, MO 0.75, Ni 0.60, V 0.10 - 0.20
